Kanji and his friends defeated the source of all the shadows and saved the 'TV world', thus leaving it a peaceful world. However, after everything, Kanji suffers with PTSD and is often triggered by the occasional rainy weather.
Kanji battles shadows in the 'TV world' with his Persona and his friends each time someone gets thrown in.
Kanji is tasked with having to save Elizabeth from her unknown imprisonment and bring her home in order to clear his debts. He manages to fabricate a promise, telling her he'd take her to Paris if she went with him. However, she soon discovers he lied and that he's taking her to his hometown rather than Paris and escapes him after knocking him unconscious. After Kanji is back on his feet, he seeks her out, finding her trying to flee but after some chasing and a near-death from being thrown from a dock by a Handyman, Kanji suggests they work together again, despite having lied. They attempt to escape after Elizabeth kills Fitzroy, but are stopped when Songbird takes down their ship. When they come across the Comstock House after recovering from the crash, they discover that they need Lady Comstock's fingerprints to get through the gates, however, when they try to get her hand from the casket, Comstock left a trap that siphoned some of Elizabeth's power and using it to revive a foul and ghostly version of Lady Comstock called the Siren. Kanji and Elizabeth then follow the Siren around Emporia, to various Tears that she wishes them to see. Through the Tears, Kanji and Elizabeth discover that Elizabeth is not the child of the Comstocks, but rather a child stolen from another reality. After confronting the Siren and heading for the house, they're stopped by Songbird, who severly injures Kanji, thus leading Elizabeth to sacrifice her freedom for his life. When Kanji finds Elizabeth, she has aged decades, and has become the indoctrinated heir to prophecy that Comstock wished. She shows Kanji his hometown of 1984 under attack by Columbia, the mountains of men being drowned in flame. Kanji weakly objects, saying that he was always going to come for her. She explains that he did, many times, but Songbird always stops him. Regretting her fate, Elizabeth gives Kanji a card to deliver to her young self, and opens up a Tear, sending Kanji back to the right reality and time. Arriving in the Comstock House laboratory, Kanji follows Elizabeth's screams until he finds her being operated on by Comstock's scientists. Filled with rage, Kanji shuts down the Siphon cancelling out Elizabeth's power, at which point she opens a Tear to a field beset by a raging twister, where the scientists are blown away. Kanji then carefully releases her from her restraints and spinal tap, delivering the message from Elizabeth's older self. When Elizabeth says she intends to kill Comstock, Kanji refuses to let her, saying he plans to do it himself for what Comstock has put her through. When they find Comstock, Comstock accuses Kanji of being the reason Elizabeth's life is the way it is, thus leading Kanji to bash his head in, revealing that Comstock is the reason Elizabeth is missing her pinkie finger. Momentarily putting aside the explanations, they try to leave Columbia through Tears but can't due to the Siphon that's still in the remains of Monument Island. Using the Whistler to control Songbird, Kanji destroys the Siphon. However, the Whistler breaks and Kanji loses control of Songbird, who turns on them. Elizabeth transports them to Rapture, where Songbird is killed by ocean pressure. Elizabeth reveals to Kanji that with the Siphon gone, she can see and open Tears to "infinite" worlds, perceive all alternate realities at once. She also reveals that Comstock is not truly dead, because in other worlds, he is still alive. On a quest to stop him for good, Elizabeth and Kanji go through Tears manifesting as doors, which reveal Kanji's true history. Kanji, reluctant and anxious, asks Elizabeth to leave with him, telling her to open a Tear to Paris for them. Elizabeth, however, is intent on revealing the truth to him. With his memories returning, Kanji soon realizes that Elizabeth is actually Anna. Kanji realizes that the only way to erase the atrocities committed by Comstock (himself), and the harm visited upon Elizabeth, is for him to die before he can accept or reject his baptism, thus cancelling out either outcome. Several Elizabeths drown Kanji, and all realities in which Comstock exists are erased.
